Welcome to the CUNY Publishing Institute

June 20-24, 2016

Come join us at a five-day course on new modes of book publishing for newcomers, entrepreneurs and industry veterans alike. In this, our fourth year of operation, we offer a smarter, faster, more intensive look at what’s happening in the rapidly changing world of book publishing. Whether you’re considering a start-up operation or keen to learn more about the business you are part of, as writer or employee, the CUNY Publishing Institute is the place for you. While we will, in five days, touch on the major aspects of the industry, our focus is on new possibilities in book publishing. What are sub rights? How to reach the millions of readers who need your or your company’s book? We present a lightning-fast review of what’s what and who are some of the major players in publishing.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2016 SESSION ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED. Sorry! Try us again next year.

Entrepreneurs eager to explore new ways of publishing, and those wishing to enter the world of traditional book publishing, or simply learn more about it. If you’re contemplating whether to start a new company or join an existing one, this course is for you. No previous publishing experience is necessary. Because the CUNY Publishing Institute provides a soup-to-nuts overview of the entire process, even if you’re already a part of the industry, you’ll find something here.
